Premiere at the Filmfest Hamburg: Explorer Konferenz docks in Hamburg

What will the film industry look like in five years? The future of film production is on the programme of the first "Explorer Konferenz", which the Producers' Association, Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein and FILMFEST HAMBURG are anchoring in Hamburg just in time for the start of the festival
Under the motto "2024 - Producing for cinema, streaming and TV", Executive Producers, creatives and film policy stakeholders will meet for the first "Explorer Konferenz" on 27 September at the Hamburger Kunsthalle. The conference will shed light on new trends and analyse the challenges and opportunities of the current upheaval in the film industry. The Explorer Konferenz is embedded in FILMFEST HAMBURG, which runs in the city from 26 September to 5 October 2019.

Excerpt from the programme: The opening keynote will be held by entrepreneur and "How to Hack" podcaster Tijen Onaran. With her initiative "Global Digital Women", she is committed to the networking and visibility of women in the digital industry. She publishes regularly as a member of the Handelsblatt Expert Council, and her podcast in cooperation with the magazine "Business Punk" appears weekly.
Founder Nadira Azerma wants to revolutionise the storytelling business with the help of artificial intelligence. At the Explorer Konferenz, she will explain how her start-up "ScriptBook" works and show how filmmakers can use this ground-breaking forecasting system to objectively evaluate film and TV projects and avoid financial crash landings.
Media analyst and Script Writer Johanna Koljonen will present the key findings of the Gothenburg Film Festival's "Nostradamus Report 2019". The report forecasts the future for the next three to five years. The focus of the current edition: the uncertain future of public funding, the major upheavals on the streaming market, the role of cinema and the need for a debate on technology.
Are streaming services and pay TV the new avant-garde of filmmaking? Dr Lisa Blumenberg, Executive Producer of Letterbox Filmproduktion's "Bad Banks", Marcus Ammon, Senior Vice President Original Production at Sky Deutschland and Cüneyt Kaya, Script Writer and Director of the Netflix film "Betonrausch" (in post production) will be among those discussing at the closing panel of the Explorer Konferenz. Tijen Onaran will be the moderator.
