Strong North German cinema

67th Nordic Film Days Lübeck

The film north meets in Lübeck: the 67th Nordic Film Days will take place there from 5 to 9 November 2025. More than 180 films will be shown in ten sections - including 18 MOIN-funded productions such as the haunting drama "Smalltown Girl" by Kiel filmmaker Hille Norden, the world premiere of "Astrid Lindgren - Humanity Has Lost Its Mind" by Kiel-based Director Wilfried Hauke and the animated film "Mama Micra" by Rebecca Blöcher from Hamburg, which was nominated for the German Short Film Award.

Gothenburg Film Festival Industry 2026

German FIlms and Göteborg Film Festival have announced that Germany is the official focus country of the upcoming Nordic Film Market and TV Drama Vision. The Market and Drama Vision are part of the Gothenburg Film Festival Industry. This focus will bring a diverse selection of German Executive Producers, funds and key decision makers to Gothenburg to forge new connections and deepen co-operation between the audiovisual institutions of the Nordic countries and Germany.

From Fatih Akin to Sheri Hagen

The 33rd edition of Filmfest Hamburg is just around the corner - and the Hanseatic city is shining in its most beautiful yellow colour. This year, 14 MOIN-funded productions have made it into the programme, including the Cannes films "Amrum" by Fatih Akin and "Romeria" by Carla Simón, "Short Summer" by Nastia Korkia, which recently won an award in Venice, and the Hamburg animation adventure "The Last Whalesinger" by Reza Memari.

Two Lions for MOIN-supported talents

Venice International Film Festival

Two of the coveted prizes at the Venice International Film Festival went to MOIN-funded productions on Saturday evening: The "Lion of the Future - Luigi De Laurentiis Award" for best debut went to "Short Summer" by Nastia Korkia. Actress Luna Wedler received the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actress for her outstanding performance in "Silent Friend".

100,000 euros more for Hamburg's art house and neighbourhood cinemas

Hamburg cinema prices 2025

The MOIN Film Fund introduces the "MOIN Cinema Bonus": Additional funding totalling 100,000 euros, which will be awarded this year as part of the Hamburg Cinema Awards.
