Altonaer Volkspark

This park was created in 1918 north of the district of Bahrenfeld. Its undulating and primeval landscape sprawls over 153 hectare, and from its peak, the Birkenhöhe, one has a beautiful view. In the north- west the fabulous Dahlia garden is on display in July-October from 7 a.m. until dusk. In the north, the well-known soccer team HSV calls the AOL-Arena their stadion. In the area there are also the Color-Line-Arena (large event hall) and the main cemetery of Altona.

Edelfettwerk

The Edelfettwerk is an old factory in Hamburg, in which fats were made till the 30's. The production was shut down and thus there were the possibility of creating a special event location. Old factories have been uninstalled and replaced by an unique lounge, dance- and open spaces which, depending on the season offer, have space for events in the order of 50 up to 2000 people. The main hall of the Edelfettwerk is located in the former warehouse of the building. The original character still works through the high walls of the old building. As a church, the hall consists of a towering nave and two aisles.
Barclays Arena

The Barclaycard Arena Hamburg is momentarily the most modern multifunctional venue in Europe. Depending on the construction of the interior, it holds 12,000 to 16,000 visitors. On the first floor of this four-storey complex, there are loges that can be decorated according to the customer's wish. On the top level, beside the normal tiers for the public, group loges with saunas (!) and the entire technical equipment are accommodated. Directly beneath the ceiling one can walk on steel bridges of 30 meters height across the entire expanse. In the complex there are seven different restaurants, 16 fast-food areas and various bars, most of which can be rented for private functions. For film productions especially the VIP restaurant and the after show function area seems interesting.

The district of Bahrenfeld offers a lot of industrial real estate and traffic zones but it is at the same time with about 40% green area the greenest quarter of Hamburg with lots of parks and cemeteries. More over, Bahrenfeld offers a multiplicity of historical working class houses and factory buildings. A lot of former industrial houses are being changed into living and working spaces (the most known example is the “Gaswerk”, a former gasworks).
