Bergedorfer Schloßstraße
21029 Hamburg
The Castle is located in a park nearby the river Bille. It is rounded by banks and moats. Moreover, on the ground of Hamburg it is the only received one. In 1212 the castle was firstly named moated castle. The rests of the medieval building are kept under the eastern wing (1589/90). The west wing developed in 1610 and the half-timbered south wing one year later. Inside is the lord’s room in the typical stile. The garden was constructed in the beginning of the 20th century. The rooms inside belong to the museum of Bergedorf and the Vierlande that show objects from urban and rural culture.

Lohbrügger Kirchstr. 65 - 21033 HamburgThe University of applied sciences Hamburg comprises 13 departments and stands out because of its highly practical approach. Foyer and entrance halls, built in 1972, reflect the style of that time and are surely familiar thanks to events such as the regular flea markets. For film productions the department of natural sciences is especially interesting. On the second floor of the southern wing there are a number of laboratories with up-to-date equipment, five of the rooms are connected directly to each other by passagways. These labs feature a light, clean look and are, in contrast to those in other institutes, rather spacious.
