The enourmous malthouse was built in 1910 on the site of a former brewery. Its red brick facade has wonderful moldings, arches and ornaments. During redevelopment, the inside of the building was entirely stripped. Old and new parts were integrated into the contemporary interior design which consists of a large foyer, galleries on 5 floors and a glass roof. Since 1996, the building houses the so-called Stilwerk, an association of 20 interior design shops, displaying modern design and architecture and selling exquisite furniture and accessories. Modern offices are also located in the building and a bistro in the cross vault on the lower ground floor.
