An award for Hamburg's cinema scene
In cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Media, the Hamburg Cinema Awards are presented once a year by an expert jury for high-quality cinema programmes. Furthermore, Hamburg cinema venues with particularly innovative concepts in the field of screening can apply for the special prizes. These are open to an extended group of applicants (all Hamburg-based providers) and are also awarded by the cinema jury.
The submission deadline for the Hamburg Cinema Awards and special prizes is 31 March each year.

Applications can be submitted by:
Hamburg cinemas and screening venues that are not publicly funded
Step Two
Arrange a consultation appointment
Please arrange a consultation appointment at least 14 days before the submission deadline. The submission deadline for the Hamburg Cinema Awards and special prizes is 31 March each year.
Step Three
Apply for Fundings
The application can only be submitted online. You will receive access data for the application portal during your counselling session with our funding officers.
