This is how it continues
The pre-selected films are viewed by the members of the German Film Academy. The members of the individual sections then determine the nominees in their respective fields. The nominations will be announced on 16 March and the German Film Awards Distribution will take place on 28 April.
The German Film Award - the most prestigious and most highly endowed award for German film - is endowed with prize money from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media totalling almost 3 million euros.
