Award-winning and honoured

The North is strongly represented in the capital this year: no fewer than eight funded films have made it into the official programme of the 76th Berlinale from 12 to 22 February 2026. With the drama "Yellow Letters" by Oscar-nominated filmmaker İlker Çatak, which was shot in Hamburg, and "Rose" with leading actress Sandra Hüller, two funded films can be seen in the Competition.

Hamburg, 20.01.2026 - CineHamburg - the new industry gathering of the German cinema industry - will take place in the Hanseatic city for the first time from 7 to 10 July 2026. This was announced today by the associations HDF KINO and AllScreens Verband Filmverleih und Audiovisuelle Medien. With CineHamburg, the two associations are combining the strengths of their previous formats Filmtage Köln and Filmtheaterkongress KINO, thus opening a fresh chapter for the cinema industry.

With the opening of its German office in Hamburg, PUBLIKUM.io and MOIN Film Fund are launching a pilot programme to strengthen audience-oriented material development. Production companies from Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein are now invited to apply to take part in the programme.
