09.11.2018 | Hamburg Declaration of the Many
Together with other cultural institutions, Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein has signed the Hamburg Declaration of the Many. The declaration sends a clear signal against right-wing tendencies and influence on the arts and cultural scene.
Maria KöpfCEO of Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein: "Right-wing populist and far-right content has long since reached the parliaments in our country. We as a film funding organisation are also feeling this headwind. We remain committed to supporting content that reflects the diversity of society and upholds democratic values."
The Declaration of the Many is a nationwide campaign by the Berlin-based association Die Vielen e.V., which will be launched on 9 November 2018 and articulated nationwide in actions, events and discussions. The aim is to intensify dialogue between cultural institutions and those active in the cultural landscape and thus stimulate local and supra-regional self-active networks. Together with numerous other initiatives, associations and civil society organisations, the signatories and supporters will campaign against racism and other forms of discrimination and for a just, open and united society.
