Eight nominations for MOIN-funded productions

The Grimme Institute today published the nominations for the 59th Grimme Prize. Among them are 8 productions from the north of Germany. The Grimme Prize is one of the most important awards in the German television sector.

There are three nominations in the Fiction competition for the following feature films with North German participation:

Four Documentaries have been nominated in the Information & Culture competition:

  • Atomkraft Forever von Carsten Rau (PIER 53 für SWR/NDR)

  • Genderation von Monika Treut (Hyena Films für ZDF/3sat)

  • The Other Side of the River von Antonia Kilian (Doppelplusultra Filmproduktion/Pink Shadow Films/Greenlity OY für ARTE)

In the Children & Youth competition, there is a nomination for Futur Drei by Faraz Shariat (Jost Hering Filme/Iconoclast Germany/La Mosca Bianca Films). Another nomination went to the Hamburg project "So laut du kannst" by Esther Bialas (Relevant Film for ZDF) in the Fiction competition.

The Grimme Prize winners will be announced on 21 March 2023 and the distribution of the 59th Grimme Prize will take place one month later, on 21 April, in the Marl Municipal Theatre
