Because even with theHamburg Media School (HMS), the Oscars are within reach: The two graduation films "ISTINA (truth)" and "Those who follow" are in the final of this year'sStudent Academy Awards. The awards will be presented in Los Angeles in October 2023.
The Teachers' Lounge director Ilker Çatak was able to breathe the same Oscar air back in 2015. With his HMS graduation film "Sadakat", he won the "Student Oscar" in gold.
The road to the Oscars
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will publish a list of all titles submitted in the "Best International Feature Film" category in mid-October. Last year, 92 countries submitted films. The 15-title shortlist for the category, which includes the films submitted from the various countries, will be announced on 21 December 2023.
The five nominated films will be selected from this shortlist and announced on 23 January 2024. The Oscar® Distribution will take place on 10 March 2024. More atGerman Films.
