Freshly promoted: Doris Dörrie and Miniaturwunderland
14.07.2025 | 2.7 million euros for 44 projects
In the second funding round of the year, the MOIN Film Fund committees supported 44 projects with more than 2.7 million euros. These include Doris Dörrie's drama "Mrs Winkler Leaves Home" and the family adventure "Miniature Wonderland".
Particularly pleasing: several major projects are bringing several weeks of filming to the region.
The retired actress Mrs Winkler lives a bitter and painful life. But when the care robot Pavlovich takes over her care, he unexpectedly seems to awaken a new will to live in her. Mrs Winkler Leaves Home (550,000 euros, Zeitsprung Pictures, Cologne) is a drama by Director and Script Writer Doris Dörrie. Shooting is planned for October and will last over three weeks in the funding region.
In Grammatik (375,000 euros, Fünferfilm, Hamburg) by Director and Script Writer Popo Fan, a Chinese artist and a Syrian cook meet in a language course. The German-Austrian-Swedish co-production tells a love story about language, the body and the search for freedom. The production was shot over 24 days in the Hanseatic city with Hamburg Oscar winner Zamarin Wahdat behind the camera.
The German-Dutch-South Korean co-production Half Moon (175,000 euros, In Good Company, Berlin) by Hyojoo Yang tells the story of 13-year-old Yeri, who flees with her family to her eccentric aunt Ah-Jin on a remote island. There she discovers dark family secrets and finds an unexpected ally in Ah-Jin. The film is shot for more than three weeks in Schleswig-Holstein.
Hamburg's miniature wonderland on a grand scale: ten-year-old Matteo is magically shrunk and finds himself together with his patchwork family in the centre of Hamburg's miniature wonderland. Under the Directorship of Félix Koch, they embark on a search for their missing grandfather and experience many adventures along the way. The script was written by Dirk Ahner. Letterbox Filmproduktion from Hamburg will receive 100,000 euros for the project development of the international co-production.
