Hamburg Directors at the Locarno Film Festival

Directors Rosanne Pel is represented in the international competition of the 78th Locarno Film Festival with her drama "Donkey Days". The film was largely shot in Hamburg and realised by the Hamburg-based production company Junafilm. The short film "Die Uniformierten" by Timon Ott from Hamburg will also be screened in the newcomer section Pardi di Domani.

Donkey Days (AT: Anna ist) by Hamburg-based Director Rosanne Pel tells the story of two sisters who have been fighting for their mother's attention since childhood. Old wounds open up when they return to their parental home and discover well-kept secrets. With 45 shooting days in Hamburg, the film was shot almost entirely in the region and received production funding of 450,000 euros.

Timon Otts The Uniformed follows an 18-year-old young man who signs up for 17 years in the military. While he is perceived as a soldier by the civilian population, he himself doubts whether he wants to fulfil this role. The short film was produced by Einbaum Film and funded with 24,000 euros.
