What’s it all about?
Since 2023, the “Future North” networking platform has been taking place at the Lübeck Nordic Film Days as part of the “Lübeck Meetings” industry programme. This programme, designed to provide funding for young talent, brings seven directors from the Baltic states, Greenland, Sápmi, the Faroe Islands and Schleswig-Holstein to Lübeck. They are given the opportunity to take part in the various festival events – ranging from the opening night through to input sessions, masterclasses and screenings, right through to networking events.
In addition, the seven up-and-coming filmmakers will present an excerpt from their current film project and receive public feedback and constructive advice from industry experts and the audience.
Up-and-coming talent are given a platform on which they can showcase their skills as part of the festival, learn in detail about the ‘dos and don’ts’, and work alongside experienced professionals from the film industry.
