The water tower, built between 1907 and 1910 and in use since 1962, is the landmark of the Sternschanzenpark, the park in the district of Sternschanze. The water tower is now a hotel and belongs to the hotel chain Moevenpick. It has 226 rooms that have all a spectacular view over Hamburg. It offers furthermore a bar, a restaurant, spa and sport areas and 13 event rooms for rent.
this brick-lined building was erected in the neo-gothic style by Johannes Otzen between 1882 and 1886. The prominent tower is framed by four smaller turrets. During WWII the church, apart form its tower and porch, was heavily damaged. Its nave was completely reconstructed in 1953. Today modern inboard elements contrast with those on the outside.
