100th Green Shooting Card goes to "Sauerkrautkoma"

When shooting a cinema film, thousands of plastic cups usually end up in the bin, while unfiltered diesel generators, car and air travel emit around 600 to 1000 tonnes of CO2 into the air. In 2011, Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein (FFHSH) therefore launched the "Green Shooting Card", a seal of quality for environmentally conscious filming. To mark its 100th anniversary, the FFHSH awarded the Green Shooting Card to the crime film "Sauerkrautkoma", which is currently being produced in Bavaria
When shootingSauerkraut coma (Constantin Film), the fifth film adaptation of the crime comedy by Rita Falk, the team is focusing on environmentally friendly measures such as the use of hybrid and hydrogen vehicles, catering with regional products and thermo mugs for the crew. They have now been honoured for their efforts with the 100th Green Shooting Card from Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein.
Maria KöpfCEO of Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein, says: "With the 100th Green Shooting Card to a Bavarian film production, we want to set an example: Only together and across borders can we make a difference and make production processes more ecological. The 'Sauerkrautkoma' team works green through and through and therefore more than deserves our 100th Green Shooting Card. The fact that we have already been able to convince 100 film teams to film in an environmentally conscious way over the past five years fills us with pride. During the filming of Fatih Akin's thriller 'Into the Fate' alone, over 200 tonnes of CO2 were saved with the Green Shooting Card. The example calculation shows that we are on the right track."

More about the Green Shooting Card
Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein was the first film funding organisation in Germany to introduce the topic of environmentally conscious filming to the film industry. With the certified seal of approval for film and TV productions, the FFHSH provides recommendations on how to reduce energy consumption and avoid waste on set. Production teams that demonstrably shoot their film in an environmentally conscious manner are honoured. The Green Shooting Card can now be applied for worldwide. The Film Commission Mallorca is planning to adapt the "Green Shooting Card" and in Iceland the first international production "The Deposit" will be honoured with the FFHSH "Green Shooting Card" in the coming weeks.
