
North German film industry celebrates at Kampnagel

Hamburg, 25 January 2018 - Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein celebrated its traditional annual kick-off at Kampnagel on Wednesday evening with around 1,000 guests from the worlds of film and TV, culture and politics. Among the guests: Directors Fatih Akin and Emily Atef and actors Moritz Bleibtreu and Til Schweiger.
Maria KöpfCEO of Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein, says: "A Golden Globe, an Oscar nomination, a film in the Berlinale competition and ten productions at the Max Ophüls Prize: the 2018 film year could hardly have got off to a better start. Today's party is and remains a thank you from our entire team to the North German filmmakers, whose commitment makes the film location shine."
The followingFFHSH-funded film teams were among the guests: The team of Contempt, the fourth instalment in the Jussi Adler Olsen series, with the two main actors Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Fares Fares, as well as the Zentropa Executive Producers Louise Vesth and Fabian Gasmia.
Into the fate Director and Golden Globes winner Fatih Akin with Executive Producer Nurhan Sekerci-Porst, actors Denis Moschitto, Numan Acar, Uwe Rohde and Samia Chancrin, as well as co-writers Hark Bohm and Herman Weigel.
Nur Gott kann mich richten-Director Özgür Yildirim with lead actor and co-producer Moritz Bleibtreu, co-producer Emek Kavukcuoglu and Director of Photography Matthias Bolliger. The gangster film opens in cinemas on Thursday, 25 January.
3 Days in Quiberon Director Emily Atef and Executive Producer Karsten Stöter (Rohfilm Factory). The drama about Romy Schneider celebrates its world premiere in the Competition of the 2018 Berlinale.
Watu Wote Script Writer Julia Drache came to represent her Hamburg Media School team. Katja Benrath, Tobias Rosen and Felix Striegel celebrated the Oscar nomination at the premiere of their short film in Nairobi.
The up-and-coming director and HfbK graduate Eibe Maleen Krebs, came together with Executive Producer Verena Gräfe-Höft (Junafilm). Her feature film debut Draußen in meinem Kopf is in competition for the Max Ophüls Prize.
Trailers and sponsors A trailer, realised and sponsored by The Post Republic, shows film clips from around 60 cinema and television films and TV series that were shot in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein last year, some of which were also funded.
For the fifth time, Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein is celebrating at Kampnagel. A special highlight for the guests this year is once again the dessert buffet from the Park Hyatt Hamburg and the catering from Peacetanbul. Beverage sponsors are HOLSTEN, Rindchen's Weinkontor, fritz-kola, VILSA and Tanqueray Gin.
