Hot film summer
06.08.2018 | Filming in the north

This summer, over a dozen cinema films with FFHSH funding will be shot in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein - a new record. The projects are backed by prominent Hanseatic filmmakers such as Fatih Akin, Til Schweiger and Katja Benrath, who was nominated for an Oscar in 2018 with her short film "Watu Wote".
In the summer months (June-August) of 2018, a total of 13 film crews shot 160 days of filming in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. In 2017, five subsidised productions with 62 shooting days were produced in the region during the same period. In 2016, there were eight films with 105 shooting days. "What we are particularly proud of: Akin's 'Golden Glove' and Benrath's 'Rocca' will be complete Hamburg originals. Both films will be shot entirely in the Hanseatic city. We wish all 13 film teams every success!" says Maria Köpf, CEO of Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein.
