There have been several awards for FFHSH-funded productions in recent weeks, including Katrin Gebbe's "Pelikanblut" and "Atomkraft Forever" by Carsten Rau.
The year is drawing to a close - and for some funded projects it is ending with a bang. For examplePelican blood by Hamburg-based Directors and Script Writer Katrin Gebbe and Hamburg-based Executive Producer Verena Gräfe-Höft took home two awards at the Günter Rohrbach Prize 2020. The Actress Award went to lead actress Nina Hoss, while Moritz Schultheiß received the Saarland Medien GmbH Award for his camera work. The boxer dramaGipsy Queen by Hamburg-based Director and Script Writer Hüseyin Tabak was honoured with the Lord Mayor's Award - for the performance of lead actress Alina Șerban.
From 4 to 8 November, the Nordic Film Days Lübeck took place in an online version, with almost the entire programme made streamable overnight. At the award ceremony, the CineStar Prize went to the funded short filmAfter two hours, ten minutes had passed by Steffen Goldkamp (HFBK Hamburg).
Nuclear Power Forever is due to be released in German cinemas on 18 March - and the film has already impressed a jury: At the Braunschweig International Film Festival, the film by Carsten Rau (Pier 53) from Hamburg was honoured with the "Green Horizons Award" 2020 for the best documentary on the topic of sustainability.
Although not sponsored by us, we are delighted for two Hamburg filmmakers: The 250,000 euro prize in the ARD Documentary Film Competition goes to Tristan Chytroschek and Carsten Stormer from a&o buero Filmproduktion in Hamburg - for the Documentary projectThe recycling lie. The project looks at the gigantic amounts of plastic waste, especially in developing countries, and the tricks of the recycling industry. With the prize money, the Documentary can now be realised.
