ABOUT THE FILMS
Maman Maman Maman Directors Lucia Margarita Bauer's grandmother Babet Berger died on 6 April 2012. The story of her semi-criminal transfer from Riedlingen in southern Germany via Paris (including a bus tour and a trip around the Seine) to her husband's grave in France was the starting point for the film "Maman Maman Maman", in which she embarks on a search for her own roots and gets stuck at one or two forks in the road as a matter of course. She uses numerous filmic sources, letters, photos, objects of all kinds, mobile phone films of her cousins, her own footage of her great-grandparents, as well as Super 8 films of her grandmother herself. The result is a kaleidoscopic anti-portrait about life and the deep relationship between tragedy and comedy, slapstick and death.
Alturas Fragments from the everyday life of a Peruvian family at 3600 metres above sea level. The land is dry, the light is dazzling. What grows in this place? A silent search for distance and closeness in the small community of Contay. Elisa Taboada is the first woman to stand for election as a local councillor here.
