Featuring Bruno Alexander and Sibel Kekilli at Kampnagel
24.06.2026 | MOIN Mittsommer 2026

A cinematic celebration in the Hanseatic city: with around 1,000 guests in attendance, MOIN Film Fund celebrated its annual industry gathering, ‘MOIN Mittsommer’, at Kampnagel in Hamburg on Tuesday evening. Among those on the red carpet were: ‘Tatort’ detective Denis Moschitto, Emil and Oskar Belton from ‘Discounter’, Bruno Alexander, and the actors Bjarne Mädel, Sibel Kekilli and Sebastian Bezzel.

Dr Carsten Brosda, Senator for Culture and Media: “The Midsummer Festival marks the halfway point of the year and is a great opportunity to celebrate the successes of the first half of the year in Hamburg as a film location. The first half of the MOIN year has impressively demonstrated, through international awards such as the Golden Bear and successes at Cannes, just how much innovative drive and creativity there is in the industry. The award-winning films have brought into focus themes that address current social issues. This demonstrates once again precisely why we need a strong film industry hub. And the year continues to be eventful: in the second half of the year, we can build directly on this with the new CineHamburg format. Particularly in turbulent times, a strong network and reliable partnerships are especially important for developing solutions together and securing the industry’s long-term viability.”
Helge Albers, CEO of MOIN Film Fund Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein: “A Golden Bear, a Silver LOLA and two jury prizes at Cannes – we’ve got off to a very successful start to the new year with our funded productions. And the second half of the year is set to follow on seamlessly: we’re looking forward to record-breaking shoots such as the feature film ‘Miniatur Wunderland’ or the Beatles series ‘Hamburg Days’, which is currently being filmed in the Hanseatic city. And in just a few days’ time, we’ll be hosting CineHamburg, a forward-looking industry event that is unique in Germany in this form. And one of the longest days of the year is the perfect occasion to celebrate with the industry and say thank you.”
Last year, every euro invested in funding generated just under 3 euros for Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. As a result, the €7.6 million in fundings generated over €22.4 million for the region. Thanks to a budget increase of €5 million, the film industry here has been able to showcase its full potential over the past twelve months.
The following MOIN-funded film crews were among the guests:
Aliens over Meck-Pomm is the title of the first feature film by the Belton brothers, Emil and Oskar, and Bruno Alexander (“Die Discounter”, “Ach, diese Lücke…”). The film is due to hit cinemas in 2027 – and the three of them have already walked the MOIN red carpet.
In February, Der Heimatlose celebrated its world premiere at the Berlinale – Directors Kai Stänicke and Thomas Stänicke’s film is set to hit German cinemas on 27 August. Also present at Kampnagel: lead actor Paul Boche and the Hamburg-based production company Tamtam Film.
On 17 September, Adams Acht – a sports drama about the legendary ‘rowing professor’ Karl Adam, which was filmed in Ratzeburg, amongst other locations – will hit cinemas. Alongside Oliver Masucci and Felix Kammerer, Leonard Kunz also plays a leading role; he also popped by Kampnagel.
The film adaptation of Caroline Wahl’s novel *22 Bahnen* was a huge hit in German cinemas last year – now comes its direct sequel, *Windstärke 17* , which was filmed over just under three weeks in Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg. Directors Mia Maariel Meyer and BerghausWöbke were guests at Kampnagel.
Tahsim Durgun’s best-selling novel Mama, bitte lern Deutsch is soon to be adapted for the screen in the north.
Directors Hüseyin Tabak has already paid a brief visit with his team, led by Constantin Film Executive Producer Nurhan Şekerci-Porst.
MOIN Midsummer: Trailer and Sponsors

The Letterbox Bar, with its signature drink, and Curlypictures, with a karaoke lounge, also helped to create a great atmosphere. The film trailer, produced and sponsored by The Post Republic, features clips from numerous productions filmed in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein over the past year. Beverage sponsors were Rindchen’s Weinkontor and fritz-kola. TV.MediaConsult and Leonardo Hotels were able to take part for the first time this year with promotional stands.
