TheFirst Cut Lab Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein will take place exclusively online in 2021. The participation fee is 1,000 euros. You can still apply until 1 September 2021.
In 2020, the FFHSH-funded project DIE GROSSE FREIHEIT by Wendla Nölle (editor: Rune Schweitzer) took part in the First Cut Lab - an experience that Executive Producer Andrea Schütte from Tamtam Film would not want to miss:
"We had already been editing our cinema film THE GREAT FREEDOM for around four months (including the rough cut) when we were able to present our cut outside the editing room for the first time at the First Cut Lab in Trieste. We not only benefited from the expertise of the experts (festival programmers, sales experts), but also from the close support of an experienced editor and coach. The open-minded, sensitive approach to editing, the sensitive, precise criticism of characterisation and plot, but also the individual perspectives on the challenging story probably saved us some time in the editing room and gave us the right impetus at the right time. This allowed us to turn a promising cut into a very special debut and subsequently gain an excellent world distributor in Pluto Film. I can recommend participation in this programme without reservation and will definitely consider it again for future projects."
