From 1987 to 2011, Reinhard Hinrichs shaped the establishment and development of film funding in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. The film industry in the north owes him a great deal. He has now passed away at the age of 74.

Reinhard Hinrichs, born on 1 August 1946, worked as a Production Manager in Hamburg and joined Filmbüro Hamburg e.V., the first cultural film funding organisation in Germany (which was founded in the early 1980s), as Head of Production Funding in 1987. In 1995, the Filmbüro, the FilmFonds and the Verleihkontor were merged to form FilmFörderung Hamburg GmbH. Reinhard was deputy to the then CEO of FilmFörderung Eva Hubert. He leaves behind a daughter and three grandchildren, for whom he took great care.
