The German-Turkish Co-Production Development Fund was founded in 2011 by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, MOIN Film Fund Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein and the Istanbul Film Festival - Meetings on the Bridge. The aim of the fund is to strengthen German-Turkish cooperation and promote joint film projects between the two countries at an early stage of development. In its 10 years of existence, the German-Turkish Co-Production Development Fund has already been able to support a number of successful projects. Last year, for example, the film "When I'm Done Dying" by Nisan Dag, produced by Red Balloon, won the Best Director Award at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. In 2019, Emin Alper's drama "A Tale Of Three Sisters", a co-production by Berlin-based Komplizen Film, screened in competition at the Berlinale.
