Film funding supports Ukrainian film community
07.03.2022 | 100,000 euros for the Emergency Fund
In view of the humanitarian emergency and the war in Ukraine, solidarity is more important than ever: the German film funding organisations condemn Putin's invasion in the strongest possible terms and are sending a signal of solidarity to the Ukrainian filmmakers and their families with their joint action.
The German film funding organisations are donating a total of 100,000 euros to the "Emergency Fund for Filmmakers", which the global initiative "International Coalition for Filmmakers at Risk" (ICFR) set up at short notice due to the war in Ukraine.
At the same time, the German film funding organisations express their great respect for all Russian filmmakers who publicly and visibly oppose the war.
The ICFR stands up for persecuted and endangered filmmakers around the world and fights to ensure that they can continue their work even under adverse conditions.
