German-Scandinavian business lunch

Germany's northernmost and southernmost film funding organisations were joint hosts: Filmmakers from all over Scandinavia and Germany came together at the Business Lunch as part of the 76th Festival de Cannes.
Films and series from the Scandinavian countries are recognised worldwide. Although filmed in the original languages, they are internationally marketable and successful both at the box office and with the juries. Last year, Ruben Östlund's Triangle of Sadness won the Palme d'Or. The project was an international co-production, and the financing also included funding from Germany - including from the MOIN Film Fund.
On Sunday, 25 producers, writers and directors from Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland met with 25 producers, Script Writers and Directors from Germany to establish or maintain contacts. The event was organised by FFF Bayern and MOIN Film Fund Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein. The two German funding organisations worked together with the institutionsDet Danske Filminstitut,Norsk filminstitutt,Kvikmyndamiðstöð Íslands,Svenska Filminstitutet andFinnish Film Foundation.
Among the guests wereSara Nassim andRúnar Ingi Einarssonwho jointly produced the filmFár which is currently screening in the Short Film Competition at the Festival de Cannes. The script and Directors of Fár areGunnur Martinsdóttir Schlüterwho was also a guest at the Business Lunch. Sara Nassim is also the Executive Producer of the highly acclaimed cinema film Lamb, which was also written and directed by Sara Nassim.Valdimar Jóhannsson was among the guests. Other guests from the north includedPetter Borgli, Mikael Christian Rieks , Jacob Jarek, Cornelia Boysen, Ilkka Matila and Mika Ritalahti. They met Wiebke Andresen, Veronica Ferres, Nicole Gerhards, Philipp Budweg, Björn Vosgerau, Viola Fügen, Philipp Worm and others. andNatalie Hölzl, who is currently producing a project on the Faroe Islands together with Stefanie Hölzl and her company Elfenholz Film. A number of young talents were also invited, such asChristian Sieé, Pauline Roenneberg, Eileen Byrne, Theresa Fritzi Hörl, Martha Münder, Christoph Degenhart, Lennart Lenzing and Felix Herrmann.
Since 2010, the FFF Bayern has been bringing filmmakers from Germany together with Executive Producers and other creatives from potential co-production countries as part of the Festival de Cannes. After Canada last year, this year's guests came from all over Scandinavia. To this end, FFF Bayern cooperated with MOIN Film Fund, which jointly organised the event.
