Summertime is open-air cinema time. You haven't watched a film in the open air yet this year? Here we show you a selection of current open-air cinemas in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein.
In the middle of the city centre, an open air festival takes place for four days, bringing you some real film classics.

Whether in Hirschpark or on the market square in Blankenes - the organisers have gone in search of the most unusual spots along the Elbe for you. Old classics and more recent films will be shown.

Under the title "Cinema builds bridges, brings people together", the filmRaum will be showing a colourful selection of new and old blockbusters and arthouse films in its open-air edition from Wednesday to Saturday. What's special: Two non-profit screenings take place every Friday at 6 pm and 9 pm, with no admission charge.
This year there will also be a special programme entitled "Hamburg Cinemas as Guests", in which the cinemas Abaton, Metropolis, Savoy, Studio Kino, B-Movie and Alabama will be showing some of their film highlights.

In Alsterdorf there is barrier-free open-air summer cinema with subtitling for the hearing impaired and audio description for visually impaired cineastes.

An after-work drink on the Schanze in the open air + a selected film from the last few months = welcome to the Schanzenkino! Open-air cinema is especially fun on two huge screens with wireless headphones (German sound version + original version).

THE classic in Hamburg Altona: In the picturesque inner courtyard of the Altona Town Hall, Zeise cinemas show a mix of arthouse films, current Oscar winners and numerous other specials year after year.

The Filmclub Burgtheater Ratzeburg e.V., together with the Eulenspiegelkino Mölln in the Duchy of Lauenburg and the Schaalsee region, shows German and international cinema films in the open air at selected locations.

The Filmclub Burgtheater Ratzeburg e.V. in Grömitz shows a colourful film programme for the whole family close to the beach between the mini golf course and the tennis court.

Nature films against a fantastic natural backdrop? No problem in Eckernförde. The Green Screen Open Air Beach Cinema will be showing several feature-length and short films for young and old on the beach by the Baltic Sea Info Centre on 28 August.

Just outside Hamburg, the Pinneberg Open Air is once again showing three films for free on Drosteiplatz.
