MOIN Filmförderung Hamburg Schlwesig-Holstein

The first programme highlights have been announced

30.07.2024 | Explorer Konferenz in Hamburg

The Explorer Konferenz kicks off this year's INDUSTRY DAYS at FILMFESTS HAMBURG and invites you to the Hanseatic city on 30 September under the motto "Risk & Reward" to shed light on the changes in producing for film, television and streaming.

As a B2B platform, the Explorer Konferenz offers information, dialogue, networking and a look into the near future of the industry. This year, the thematic focus is on how we can better recognise and manage risks in the development, production and marketing of new films and series and thus assess the rewards more accurately. In over 15 formats, experts will provide valuable insights into how technological innovations are changing the industry, what opportunities & risks the influence of social media and streaming platforms has on content and how international initiatives are creating new forms of co-production.

The programme brings innovative creators and companies to the stage and shines a spotlight on the film industry. Once again this year, the Explorer Konferenz offers a look beyond the edges of the industry and invites inspiring future-makers from other sectors. The programme highlights provide a first impression:

The astronaut: from everyday life between earth and atmosphere

Dr. Insa Thiele-Eich has a doctorate in meteorology and climate research and is currently preparing to become the first German astronaut to fly to the International Space Station (ISS).
In her opening keynote, she will take us into her exciting world and talk about the challenges of her personal and professional career and give an insight into her learning journey, especially with regard to dealing with "risk".

BAFTA winner Tobi Kyeremateng: Experimenting with existing structures

Tobi Kyeremateng is a BAFTA-winning Executive Producer from London. She works in reportage and documentary for film & TV and has produced internationally for renowned broadcasters and media such as BBC, BFI, Channel 4, Film4, Netflix, NOWNESS and Sky Arts.
In an interview we want to know from her: How can community-led practice help build a more empowering industry? How can communities rethink production practices across industries? What "reward" awaits us as a result?

The full programme will be published at the end of August.
