Go to the cinema as often as you like: this is now possible with two new cinema subscriptions from Film-Norden. The Cineville card from Hamburg offers unlimited access to the entire film programme of many cinemas throughout Germany from 20 euros per month. The provider Cinfinity from Schleswig-Holstein will be launched later this year. Both projects were supported by the MOIN Film Fund.
"In Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein, we are always looking for ways to reach new target groups and simplify access to cinema experiences," says Helge Albers, CEO of MOIN Film Fund Hamburg. "Filmfest Hamburg has just achieved this brilliantly with its free admission day on 3 October. Outside of festivals, subscription models such as Cineville and Cinfinity can be a powerful lever for attracting new viewers and strengthening the loyalty of regular audiences.
Cinema fans can currently use the Cineville card in seven Hamburg cinemas, with more to follow shortly. Currently on board are the 3001, Abaton, Alabama, B-Movie, Filmraum, Metropolis and Zeise cinemas. The subscription can also be used in Berlin, Freiburg, Fürth, Cologne and Nuremberg.
Advantages for cinemas
In addition to the benefits for cinema-goers, cinemas also benefit from the new subscription models. Albers continues: "The new cinema subscriptions make spontaneous cinema visits even easier and promote the discovery of arthouse films and smaller productions. For cinemas, this means a stable source of income, a more diverse audience and an even stronger role as a cultural meeting place."
Cinfinity starts soon
The Germany-wide Cinfinity subscription is also in the starting blocks, which will be operated via a dedicated smartphone app for all cinema formats from arthouse to mainstream and will be launched in over 60 cinemas later this year. The initiators are the Schleswig-Holstein cinema operators Ralf Thomsen and Martin Turowski. Interested cinema operators can register directly via the Cinifinity-website.
Subscription prize draw on Instagram
MOIN Film Fund Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein has supported both projects with 50,000 euros as a location measure. MOIN is now giving away a 4-month subscription to Cineville via Instagram.
