Two times MOIN on the Croisette

Two MOIN-funded productions will celebrate their world premiere in Cannes in May: as the festival announced today, the international co-production "Minotaurus" will be in the running for the Palme d'Or. The debut film "Elephants in the Fog" by Lübeck-based Zischlermann Filmproduktion will be shown in the prestigious Un Certain Regard section

ABOUT THE FILMS
The international co-production Minotaurus by Directors Andrei Zvyagintsev is about Gleb, the CEO of a successful company in a provincial Russian town, who comes under increasing pressure in the face of growing professional problems and a personal crisis. When he discovers that his wife is having an affair, his life is thrown off balance - and threatens to escalate in an increasingly unstable environment. The script was written by Seymen Lyashenko. The film was co-produced by Razor Film Produktion. MOIN Film Fund supported the production with 100,000 euros and part of the post production took place in Hamburg.
Elephants in the Fogis the feature film debut of Nepalese Director Abinash Bikram Shah, whose short films and works as a Script Writer have already attracted international attention. The film tells the story of Pirati, the matriarch of a community of Kinnar women in a Nepalese village, who has to choose between personal happiness and responsibility. The German-Majoritarian co-production was made under the leadership of Lübeck-based Zischlermann Filmproduktion and Cologne-based production company Die Gesellschaft DGS. The MOIN Film Fund supported the project with 65,000 euros.
