New faces

From April, Claudia Hartmann will join the FFHSH team as the new Head of Communications & Press and Jan Asmus as the new Head of Administration.

Claudia Hartmann will join the FFHSH team as the new Head of Communications & Press in April 2017.

Until recently, Claudia Hartmann was deputy press spokesperson and social media manager for the Green Party parliamentary group in Hamburg. Last year, she was also responsible for press and public relations for the Hamburg "Drunter und Drüber - Neustadt Festival". The 33-year-old gained experience in the film industry as a project assistant at nordmedia, the film and media organisation for Lower Saxony and Bremen. Claudia Hartmann completed her studies in multimedia communication at the Institute for Journalism and Communication Research in Hanover.

"I am delighted that we have been able to appoint Claudia Hartmann as the ideal new member of staff to look after our press and public relations work," says Maria Köpf. "Thanks to her work as deputy press spokesperson for the Green Party and her experience in neighbourhood culture, she has a great network and also has knowledge of film funding. Her passion for film in Hamburg and Schleswig Holstein is infectious, and I am sure that we have found an ideal successor for Helen Peetzen, who wants to go her own way with immediate effect and whose departure I personally very much regret."

Claudia Hartmann: "My heart beats for the city's art and culture scene. That's why I now want to work passionately for the dramas on the big screen: With ideas and commitment, I would like to help bring the film locations of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein further forward. I am very much looking forward to working with everyone who is interested in the film industry and to the dialogue with journalists."

Claudia Hartmann succeeds Helen Peetzen, who is leaving the company at her own request after 16 years to set up her own press agency in Hamburg. From 2017, she will be responsible for press and public relations for Filmfest Hamburg, which takes place this year from 5 to 14 October 2017.

Jan Asmus

Jan Asmus is the new Head of Administration at Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein.

As of April, the cultural studies graduate will succeed Rusta Mizani, who is moving to the German Film and Television Academy Berlin as Head of Business Affairs. Jan Asmus most recently worked as a funding officer for TV, animation, innovative formats and games as well as for strategic planning at nordmedia Film- und Mediengesellschaft Niedersachsen Bremen.

He not only has many good contacts in the northern German film landscape, but also brings valuable expertise in the field of new media. Jan Asmus: "The professional move to Hamburg is a return home for me, not only because I have lived in the Hanseatic city with my family for many years, but also because I was able to gain my first professional experience at Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein over ten years ago. I know and appreciate the FFHSH team very much and am looking forward to my new role."
