Teachers take note: The next round of the school cinema week in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein starts in November. More than 100 films will once again be shown in around 60 cinemas this year. The screenings are specially designed for school classes and are intended to introduce children and young people to film education.
In Hamburg, the week will run from 19 to 23 November, with Schleswig-Holstein following suit from 26 to 30 November. As in previous years, there are numerous film gems in the programme: withWild heart by Charly Hübner, Lars KraumesThe silent classroom or Fatih Akin'sInto the fate some of the most successful German films of the last twelve months have made it onto the list. There will be different thematic programme focuses in both federal states. In keeping with the Year of Science 2018, for example, the topic of "Working Worlds of the Future" is on the agenda in both federal states. The special programmes "Film - A Language without Borders" and "Conflicts in an Open Society", on the other hand, will examine the topic of migration from different angles. "Me and the others" attempts to find an answer to the question "Who am I as an independent person - and who do I want to be?".

There is accompanying material for almost every cinema film for preparation and follow-up work in class. The workbooks include historical background information, interviews with actors and the film team, analysis tasks and examples for group work. Many films are also supplemented by so-called cinema seminars, in which actors, directors, presenters or cultural educators talk to teachers and pupils about the film.
