The FFHSH-funded thriller "7500" by Patrick Vollrath will celebrate its world premiere on the famous Piazza. In other sections: The experimental film "Felix in Wonderland" about the Hamburg artist Felix Kubin and the HFBK production "Black Sun".

We take our hats off to all three film crews. Our congratulations also go to the Komplizen Film team, which is being honoured with the 'Best Independent Segment Producer Award' in Locarno to mark its 20th anniversary."
The production company Komplizen Film only shot the harbour drama 'Story of my Wife' in Hamburg in early summer and is launching the novel adaptation 'Gut gegen Nordwind', which was partly shot on Sylt, in cinemas this autumn.

7500 is the code for aircraft hijackings in international aviation. Patrick Vollrath's feature film debut is a gripping thriller set exclusively in the cockpit of an aeroplane - with Hollywood star Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the leading role. The film was produced by augenschein Filmproduktion based in Cologne and Hamburg. The FFHSH supported the film with 200,000 euros. Part of the post production took place in Hamburg.
In her portrait, the French film artist Marie LosierFelix in Wonderland follows in the footsteps of Hamburg musician and artist Felix Kubin, using drawings, stop-motion, archives, tableaux vivants and fictional scenes. Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein has supported the film with 15,000 euros.
More about the festival: The Locarno Festival has been held in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland since 1946. This year, the international film scene will meet in Locarno from 7 to 17 August. Last year, Hamburg-based Director Sandra Nettelbeck premiered her drama "Was uns nicht umbringt" on the famous piazza.
