"We are not awarding any main prizes this year and we have tripled the prize money. This means we can award a total of 150,000 euros." The money will be distributed among all 29 applications received. "We are thus following the jury's advice and honouring what unites them all: cinemas are indispensable places of culture in this country and we all hope that they will be there for us again after this crisis," he said.Prien.
This year, the prize money will be awarded in three categories: 3 volunteer cinema associations without a house will each receive 1,300 euros, 12 cinemas with one screen will each receive 4,000 euros and 14 cinemas with more than one screen will each receive 7,000 euros.Minister Prien"This is a further contribution to getting cinemas through the crisis and securing their existence to some extent."
Helge Albers, CEO of Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holsteinadded: "My thanks go to Minister Prien for the fastest and highest endowed cinema award ever in Schleswig-Holstein. The tripling of the prize money is an important signal to the award-winning cinema operators - not only as a gesture for the work they have done, but also as concrete and unbureaucratic assistance. I hope that this will take some of the burden off our shoulders and I look forward to seeing you again soon in the great cinemas in the far north."
The Schleswig-Holstein Cinema Prize was originally to be awarded in three categories: for ambitious programme work in rural areas, for cinemas striving to expand as a cultural venue and for cinemas with a particularly diverse programme. The jury consists of: Astrid Muckli, Muckli-Kino Betriebsgesellschaft (Aschendorf, East Frisia), Bernd-Günther Nahm, lecturer at the Kiel University of Applied Sciences, Stefanie Polek, filmmaker. Other members are one representative each from Filmwerkstatt Kiel and the Ministry of Culture. The Filmwerkstatt Kiel of the Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein was responsible for the organisation.
