The 33rd edition of Filmfest Hamburg is just around the corner - and the Hanseatic city is shining in its most beautiful yellow colour. This year, 14 MOIN-funded productions have made it into the programme, including the Cannes films "Amrum" by Fatih Akin and "Romeria" by Carla Simón, "Short Summer" by Nastia Korkia, which recently won an award in Venice, and the Hamburg animation adventure "The Last Whalesinger" by Reza Memari.
Helge Albers, CEO of MOIN Film Fund: "The second festival edition under the direction of Malika Rabahallah shines with 14 North German film gems, with something for all cinema fans. The audience can look forward in particular to the films 'Amrum', "Donkey Days", "Als wäre es leicht" and "Billie", which were shot almost entirely in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. For younger viewers, there are two real animation highlights "made in Hamburg" with "The Last Whale Singer" and "All Full of Monsters". And thanks to the expanded Filmfest Hamburg Industry Days, the film industry will receive state-of-the-art input on future developments in the film and media sector."
