Dr Carsten BrosdaSenator for Culture and Media: "Films tell stories, allow us to take in the most diverse perspectives, inspire and disturb us. With their high-quality artistic programmes, Hamburg's arthouse and neighbourhood cinemas are particularly representative of this positive way of engaging the audience and testify to the breadth and thematic depth of Hamburg's cinema landscape. With the Hamburg Cinema Awards, we would like to support the dedicated work in these cinemas, which radiates far into the city's neighbourhoods, and congratulate the award-winning teams."
