When cinema began to stream
11.06.2020 | Panel recording now online
On 17 June, the first digital edition of our meet&mingle format took place on the Zoom platform. Under the motto "When cinema began to stream", the panel was about nothing less than the future of cinema. You can now watch the recording of the entire panel here.

Cinema vs. streaming? Not at all! Two cinema start-ups from Hamburg have recently shaken the fronts between cinema operators and streaming platforms: with the Fynn Kliemann documentary "100,000 - everything I never wanted", the young Hamburg-based distribution company Notsold.gratis was able to sell around 120,000 cinema tickets - completely digitally. The new cinema platform CVOD also caused a stir during the coronavirus crisis with its Systemsprenger - Film-Kinotag. The special thing about it: In both models, both the platforms and the cinemas benefit without spoiling each other's business.
At our virtual meet&mingle on the topic of "The corona effect: when cinema started streaming", we want to introduce the two platforms and discuss the cinema of the future: How must digital business models be constructed so that they also work for cinemas? What framework conditions are needed?
At our meet & mingle panel, the two platform operators will discussHenriette Ahrens and Ole Hellwig (notsold GmbH) and Jan Krüger (Cinnovation GmbH), the lenderBenjamina Mirnik-Voges (Entertainment One Germany/ "Berlin Alexanderplatz") and the cinema operator Christian Pfeil (Arena Filmtheater Munich/ Board of Directors AG Kino). The event will be moderated by digital expertBritta Schewe (Rocket Beans Entertainment GmbH).
